Boat trips on Glendhu
Come aboard the Rachel Clare and learn about local history, geology and wildlife.
Take in the spectacular scenery on our fun and informative tour, and spot some wildlife, too! Grey seals, eagles and otters are just some of our local friends that can be spotted during the 1 hour and 45 minute tour.
You will also learn about the creatures below the surface, and discover how they are responsibly fished and their journey from loch to plate.
Boat tours begin in May and end around the end of September, depending on the weather. We run 2 tours departing daily from the slipway outside the hotel. Please note that the tours are tide and weather dependent!

Handa Island Ferry
Take a trip on the Handa Ferry and visit Britain’s largest breeding colony of guillemots. The island is also home to puffins, razorbills, skuas, kittiwakes and terns. On the island’s north coast Torridonian sandstone cliffs tower 400feet above the sea. From this dramatic vantage point you may see whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals and basking sharks. The ferryman will point out anything of interest on your crossing to Handa. If you are very very lucky you might even see the otter!
The ferry does not operate on Sundays or in bad weather conditions. We recommend you call the operators, Roger (07780 967 800) ahead of your journey.
Scourie Wildlife Cruises
Be amazed by the spectacle of over 200,000 seabirds on the towering cliffs of Handa Island, or visit a colony of grey seals among the Badcall Islands in Eddrachilles Bay. Take in the breathtaking unspoilt coastal scenery of this area, where dolphins, whales and basking sharks are occasionally encountered.
